That along with people walking on the jetties that are clearly marked posted "No Trespassing"! Irresponsible people making it harder for the descent, responsible people to find great fishing spots. The Crappie Wall has a long history as being a top notch super fishing spot for many, many of years. If people misuse property you can count on it becoming private! Plane and simple! soap

A fisherman fell in and was drowned some months ago. The wall was closed the next day.

I heard from a friend of mine who works at the CPS plant on Calaveras that the wall was closed due to trespassing on power plant property and that it was a Homeland Security issue. hmmm

Side Note: Caught a lot of nice Reds off that wall. It's a shame it closed down!

Most people obeyed the rules and they did for decades.
It seems the rules don't matter anymore, and enforcement was non existent in recent years, so it was just a matter of time.
Example: Next time you go out there see if they still have the sign posted at the gate....."limit two rods per person" and then proceed to drive down the shoreline, and you will see one or two guys fishing and what looks like a picket fence made out of rod holders and poles lined up on the shore for yards on either side of where they are sitting.
That wouldn't have been so bad years ago when the park extended all the way past the high lines. They closed off all that area because they couldn't control all the carp that was going on out there.

Just one more cast!
