Can anyone of you tell me if this lake is runable? I see on the map that it has a lot of flooded timber. I have never been there but was thinking of trying it out. I assume that it would have some kind of marked boat lanes if it is all timber in it.. Also where is a good ramp or are there facilities on the lake somewhere for overnight stays and a ramp or something?? Thanks

Yes its run able. The middle of lake isnt. The timber is inside of the marked poles. Only 2 different boat lanes to run. Dont cut across points.

I was out there a couple months back for the first time. There are bouys to mark the lanes. If I remember correctly it was basically a big H in shape. Although I was able to find quite a few solid stumps in probably 15ish ft before I even got to the boat lanes. Its small enough that I didnt feel like i needed to run around to cover the lake in a day. I launched at lake murvaul marina and resort I believe, it was a good ramp with plenty of parking. Its a nice little lake, Ive been wanting to get back out there.

When I was there the buildings were closed, I launched early so I cant say if its open for business or not. I looked back through my navigation app to find where I launched from, and it said lake murvaul marina and resort sorry Im not of much help. There wasnt a launch fee if that means anything, I was looking for a tpwd Dropbox and another couple guys said it was free.

The lake board has been opening the marina on weekends and selling snacks and soft drinks. Like mentioned above you can run the lake as long as you stay in the lanes. They are no lanes once you go past the bridge. Very nice ramp, cabins and RV park at the marina. Good caf just down the road. Lots of boat houses to fish and there is a slot limit on Murvaul. If you fish it on a weekend just plan on meeting the game warden. Oh yeah...no gas at the marina.

Havent been there in a number of years was called Stovalls then murvaul marina. Heard it went out of business but thought it might have opened back up. Guess not enough traffic shame it was a neat old place. J D
