Been staying on the lake with my son for a few days and haven't had much success. We did find them on top one morning but they were only the little ones. Can anybody give us any tips? We don't have the means to keep shad live so we are only doing lures. Any help is much appreciated.

How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?

Fish are scattered all over the east end from north Oklahoma shoreline to the dam. Fish are targeting 1 1/2 and 8 shad. 2 and 3 oz slabs sometimes work. Umbrella rigs I think are working best right now. Sorry its been a few weeks since Ive been there but getting some reports. Most are working hard for their fish.

Are these stripers catchable during the day as well or just mornings and evenings?

Run ledges and use your electronics. Most fish have been in 50-65' deep water, with 35' on one side and river channel on the other. . . . .slammed them earlier this week several times. You just never know about time of day. . . .we've done good at 7:30am. . . .11:00am. . . .Tuesday, we smacked them real good from 4-6pm, with three fish 13-15lb on slabs (all CPR'd by the way ;-)).

In the mornings, look for little fish on top, then use depthfinder to find big fish schooled up under them. Once the topwater dies off, use depthfinder and bring your gas card. grin And I'm not kidding. . .we're finding fish from N. Island, to the cross, to WW, and down towards Eisenhower. Gotta keep moving. . . .

I promise you this, if you cover some water and stick with it, there will be no question when you find them....they are stacking up from 25'-45' down in 60' of water and when you find them, you can't get a slab to the bottom.

Tight lines. . .

Anyone can catch a lot of fish when they're hungry . . . . My favorite days are the ones where the fish don't want to eat, but I make 'em do it anyway.

We went this morn and caught 14-15 fish on top no big ones. Didnt see any of the boats around us catch any big ones either. There wasnt a shortage of boats chasing them must have been 50-60 boats within 5-600 yards.
