I have oil coming out of the brass fitting that is inline with the oil line, no other issues. Any thoughts would or ideas on where to start checking or if the valve is just bad would be appreciated. Thanks.

It is a 2 psi check valve that control the pressure in the oil tank. That's one reason the plastic oil drive gear would strip causing the oil pump to fail. If the check valve stuck it would build up to much pressure and lock the pump up and strip the gear

Find it online and have it overnighted. Just post the part number in your browser search. Get ready, shipping won't be cheap, but it will get you back on the water.

They can be cleaned with spray carb cleaner and very low compressed air all you want to do is unseat the check valve which more than likely it has a piece trash stuck between the valve and seat I have cleaned them when they have leaked and when being stopped up......Opti
