Caught two on a santone jig in deep water. Only 2 bites I had all day. Wind was blowing pretty good, hard to keep boat on the spot (really made me wish I had an Ultrex). Was off the water at 11am. Found bait in 10’ and between 30’-40’ suspended, but couldnt find bass around them. Trying to get better finding the deep bite, hopefully Sunday will be a better day.

Keep plugging away Leon, anyone can be a beater of the bank. Once you find that big school out deep and its fish after fish... Well, it's very rewarding to say the least thumb

Same for me Leon and I have a Ultrex, lol. Fished brush piles in 20-25 ft. and timbered points. Had one good bite in brush but the fish won. Thank goodness for the wind or it would have been miserable. Had all the casting practice I needed by 1pm and left. Lake can be very stingy sometimes. I'll be back. thumb

I’m not nearly As mad at them fish as I used to be but the Best Bite is during the hottest part of the afternoon.
It has been that way ever since I started fishing the lake. If you hit the water early and leave before noon you are missing the best Deepwater bite.

I think some people are still on them pretty good. I know guides, Whitt Smith and Bill Lawson (Congrats on your PB) sure are. I wouldn’t call myself a good barometer for how the lake is either, lol.

It’s still there. Need to be on the right spot. Wife and I set on a spot in media about week ago and had over 50 before 10 up to about 7 lbs.
I have noticed the bite is not as good between 11-3. From 4 to dark has been real good as well.
