How many use 1/4oz jigs?
I've just recently started using them and must say without them this w-end I may have had that stripped cat riding in the boat with me...
The winds have been purdy high here lately not that I'm complaining because without the wind it would be terribly hot....

I tie 1/4 and 3/16 jigs. They shine on really windy days and fishing deep water.

1/8 oz is normally the heaviest I will go. If I need a 1/4 oz to fish ok then my boat won't be able to handle it and I am at home.

In summer I have been using the 1/4 Oz jigs for about 11 years now. Just kind of depends on the wind, but summer and deeper water means 1/8 and 1/4 oz jigs!

A 3/16 is between a 1/8 and 1/4 oz jig. I use a them with a #1 sickle hook.

I use a lot of 3/16 oz in the summer when they are deep or it is windy. I have some 1/4 oz but seldom use them.

Some food for thought, I modified my molds to eliminate the barb so when I pour a 1/8 oz it is usually lighter than that. Same thing when you cut the barb off. The 3/16 oz are between 3/16 and 1/8 oz.
