Go read my 2nd comment. Come to find out the tires I have been using for the past 18 years are JUNK, according to a tire or rubber expert, so I will change them next time I need tires,. I have run 4 sets during that time frame, but the neweer ones are not as good as the older ones. SORRY ABOUT THIS!!!!!!!!!!

Good lord....don't bring this up! It reminds me that I have cheap Chinese tires.
Couldn't even tell you the name of em. But.i have had them for a year and a half....regularly pull the boat long distances at 70-75 mph. I put 600 miles on them in the last weekend alone. That said, I am one of the few that actually wears through the tread before they blow up. My trailer has around 14,000 miles on it since the tires were installed January 2017.

For me, the tires die of age (4yrs + UV + flat spots) before the treads wear. This is typical because the lack of mileage, especially for a boat. So the Marathon is a good one. Just make sure if you park it for a long time, move it around so it doesn't sit on the same spot for long periods. Some people keep it on jackstands to take the pressure off.
The bottom line, in my opinion is care is a big factor, no matter which tire you go with. good luck

My son has Marathons on a 2012 boat, blew one tire last October, blew one tire last Friday going to Cedar Creek, blew another one Saturday coming home from Cedar Creek, the tires look new and are garage kept, maybe his boat sits too long.

I've had the worst luck with boat trailer tires over the years and always make sure tire pressure is good and tires appear in good shape.
Had 5 tires including spare with 4 different name.brands cause I was always having blowouts while on the road.
Finally just purchased 5 Goodyear Endurances. I hope they live up to the hype.

Which one do y'all think is best? Goodyear Marathon? I learned after having blow outs ( last blow out was at 5am 3 mi. from the lake, ever change a trailer flat at 5am ? ) on several different brands of tires about ratings on trailer tires and I'll pass this info on to you free of charge. First you have to understand there are no shocks on most boat trailers so the tires take all the beating. All trailer tires up until recently were made in China and I promise you the Chinese could care less about you having a blow out on the way to the lake. Trailer tires have a speed rating, a load index, a max load rating, a load range and a max inflation pressure. Compare the Marathon tire or most trailer tires to the Endurance tire. Here are the ratings for Endurance: Speed rating - N Load index -108 Max load rating - 2200 lbs. Load range - D Max inflation pressure- 65 They also have a 87 mph rating where most are rated for 65 mph. Check these ratings against any other tire on the market and you'll see why folks in the know recommend them. Folks in the know being folks like me who have changed a trailer tire on the side of the road at 5am. Just trying to help. ps: Spigsss makes a good point, tire pressure or lack of it has caused more tire failures than anything else.

Endurance till I blow one then il come back here and cuss em. Keep'em aired up and you'll be fine. If you compare the Endurance tire to say a Marathon or Carlisle tire, size for size you'll see the difference not only in the ratings but also in the construction. My trailer tires are 215-75-R14. I paid $124 per tire at Discount mounted and tax included. AND THEY ARE MADE IN AMERICA, Gadsden, AL. to be specific.

I dont think the new endurance tires have been around long enough for a definitive answer. I do know Goodyears track record with trailer tires isnt great. We will see.

Valid point, only been out for little over a year but so far no reports of tire failure. The Goodyear Marathon tire which in manufactured in China does have a checkered past but trailer tires in general take a lot of abuse.

Thad Rains No offense, junk tire. About the only thing 'Merican made anymore for a trailer tire is the Goodyear Endurance. 14ply, 80 psi and rated for 87mph. I am a rubber chemist. Been doing this a long time. The Asians took over the trailer tire market long ago. Maybe the tarrifs will even everything back out? For now, go with Goodyear Enduarance.

Took my first trip on the new Endurance tires a couple days ago after running Carlisle for several years with multiple failures (tread separation). Maybe it's just in my head, but the trailer feels much more planted and stable. Also, a lot less flex when going over uneven surfaces compared to the Carlisles.

After a Carlisle blowout last month that cost me a fiberglass fender I added a TPMS to my trailer tires. Goodyear blowouts too over the years. I check them regularly for heat an pressure but can't stop them from having the failure while driving...until now. #fingerscrossed https://www.amazon.com/TireMinder-Solar-...V1AZ0DE92XMB7GE"Can I use the TireMinder System on my Boat Trailer? Can the transmitters be submerged? You can absolutely use the TireMinder system on your boat trailer. However, do not leave the transmitters submerged for long periods of time (>30 minutes)." https://www.minderresearch.com/tpms-frequently-asked-questions/

Maybe it's just in my head, but the trailer feels much more planted and stable. Also, a lot less flex when going over uneven surfaces compared to the Carlisles. It is because the compound and construction of the sidewall is far superior to all of the others. The sidewall is suppose to provide some flex for cushion, but not be a soft gooshy mess like most of the Aisan tires are. That massive bounce and flex is what causes flex fatigue and heat build up and resulting blow out.

Construction, superior materials and workmanship makes the Endurance a superior tire.

Goodyear Endurance, only trailer tire made in the U.S.A. Just bought one. 87 mph tire. This, Marathons are chinese junk, its lottery if you get one that lasts or blows out. Well....got my Endurance tires mounted up today. Price was better than I was told. $91.80 each. These are load range "D". The two newer tires I was using were Chinese "Gladiator" tires. Load range "C". They wore funky. The original spare was a Marathon. Load range "C". They were made in Canada. So not Chinese junk...but, Canadian junk. I guess. The Endurance tires have a pretty high speed rating and 15psi higher pressure rating. They are also HEAVY! The tire alone weighed more than the others mounted with the Skeeter aluminum wheel. They both balanced out with .75 ounces per wheel. Pretty good. And they were VERY around. Not wobbly like most tires and wheels I see them balance. First impression is very good. Time will tell.

What size did you get Steez ? My originals were 205-75-14 and I went up a notch to 215-75-14 and seems to pull better. These tires don't flatten out when you hit a bump in the road like the other tires either.

TR215/75R14.
It's the original equipment size for this trailer. ....at least the original spare was that size. I only assume it's what the other two were.
So far....I have done one really fast pull to the lake. Aired them to 65psi and set the cruise on 80mph. Limit was 75...just wanted to check the temp on them and psi change.
After 45 minutes, psi was 68 and temp was 110. Not bad.

You got a good price too. I didn't even shop, just found the closest place to home and done the deal. $124 a tire included tax, mounting and balancing so wasn't too bad.

Based on overwhelming opinion here, I got the endurance for my rig at NTB saturday. Towed less than 4 miles home. Realized few hours later than 1 tire had bulge in outer sidewall and the other is visibly out of round. Taking back to swap them out today.
Saw another recent post where someone else got some out of round too..are endurance really the best out there? First time I've bought new trailer tires but bought many tires for cars/trucks and never had to return any of them.

I thought hard about getting the Endurance but no matter where I priced 5 of them it was way cheaper to go back with the Triangle brand. Have had more than a few sets of them on various boats and never an issue even with lots of miles towed. Two sets of 5ea were still cheaper than just 5 of the Endurance. I figured it made more sense based on my own experience to stick with what works for me plus I saved $250-300.

Only trailer tire made in America buddy and the specs are the best but you can get a bad of anything once in awhile. I've had too many blowouts on the others I've bought. Having said that, most tire failures are due to under inflation and too much speed. Most trailer tires have a recommended speed limit of 65 mph. Anything over that and the tire starts to heat and gain pressure. Sorry about your experience but I still think Endurance is the best tire for a trailer.

I have been using NTB's trailer tires for several years now. I can't say they are the so-called "best" but they are not the worst.

Those tires are junk. I had one completely loose the tread and damaged my fender and rear light, and another tire developed a large bubble on the sidewall. Lots of people on the forums have had the same problems with them. I typically use Goodyear marathons but just bought a new set of the Goodyear endurance tires. Hopefully they hold up as recommended.
