Been spending a lot of time on the creeks fishing with friends. Steve, Rick-Catyakker,Clayton-Wildman of the Navidad, and Jamie-J-Moe. We are still catching a bunch of very nice fish and getting a few records a long the way! We are mainly fishing the morning bite and occasionally an early evening bite. Trying to avoid the HEAT ! Fish are very active. Catching fish in 3 to 5 feet of water holding very close to grass beds. Worms and various types of flies are the baits used. Hybrid Sunfish,Redbreast,Bluegill,Rios, and Large Mouth Bass are being caught. Rounding out the catches are some nice Longear, and a few Channel Catfish. Best times have been between sunup and 10:30a.m. After 10:30am the bite turns off! Kept some fish for the dinner table but most were released. Getting in on some HOT CREEK ACTION with friends. It just don't get any better! fish

Thanks Gnab2 for the reply! The bite has been "FANTASTIC" since spring! Plenty of BIG fish are very active here in South Central Texas! thumb

Nice. I would like to get on the water and mess with some slabs. But I need to get ready to head home to the high country in the morning.

Great post as always. Good job guys! It's been awhile since we have had any good rain. How are the water bodies where you are fishing holding up?
