I use a basic Carolina rig. 1.5oz weight on main line, then tie a swivel with a 20lb mono leader. 8/0 circle hook. Once I find the fish I just hit the spot lock on the trolling motor and hover there. Hook a perch through the back and send it down too the depth of the fish. Usually a couple cranks of bottom works fine.
