Ive had both and if I was buying new, I have no idea which i would choose. Sorry, not any help except theyre both good and youll be happy no matter which one you get. If you are comparing price, keep this in mind - brackets for talons are way more expensive and I bet install on power poles are more expensive.

I have had both. Talons hold way better, and I have had 0 issues using 8, and 10 Models. I will say Power Poles are more quiet

I told my fishing buddy Talons were going to be banned. He said why, I said well if you have your foot under them and push the remote they can stab your foot. He said you've go to be kidding. I said look at everything else that't getting banned in the world. He didn't buy it, but I got a good laugh.

Come to think of it, they could stab your foot!!! Maybe that's why I have power pole blades.

Thanks, Billy

If you have a tilt bracket you can talon other boats that get too close.

They need a sticker, like the lawn mower one, Don't stick your hand under the lawn mower when started.

This has got to be the first product comparison thread in which no one has a preference. I expected power poles suck, Talons rule and Talons suck, Power Poles rule. I've only had Power Poles, that's what was on the boat when I bought it. My next boat will be new and I would equip it and would be looking to see if the Talons were the better option ..... guess I'll flip a coin.

They're both solid. If space is limiting in your battery compartment then Talons would be the better option since they have no hydraulic fluid reservoirs and pumps to mount. PowerPoles if you have the space. There are several low bridges over deep water on lakes I fish frequently so being able to drop the poles to clear the bridge is convenient. Talons have the folding mounts but you have to go fold them manually. Each has their little nuances but they're both good tools with good support.

Also depends on the boat. Talon can cause more drag and weight on rear effecting the hole shot on some boats. PP requires more room inside the boat and wont hold anywhere near as deep.

I prefer Power Poles. They hold better and are incredibly durable.

Power poles have never let me down. I love that if they get stuck in the mud or rocks, I can just drive forward to un stick them. Great warranty, and Lighter.

There is a reason Basscat wont install Talons at the factory. Leverage behind the transom is too high even for the short ones.
