I haven't been since April but it was clear then and I haven't heard otherwise since. Cold weather, the spraying and the weevils have def helped out!

I was at Shady Glade about 3 weeks ago. It's fine. Nothing like it was 2 years ago. Best shape it's been in a long time.

Lake is low. Dont go by that or you will lose boat parts. That graph has never been right to my knowledge. The lake has shallowed up over past couple years from the dead salvania sinking to the bottom.

But the lake is in the best shape it has been in years right now. Fish are chomping but evening bite has been better to my knowledge.

No salvania, ANYWHERE! you can fish 100% of the lake that is deep enough. However, lake IS NOT at full pool. It is about 2-2.5 ft low right now. I've bumped stumps in the boat row in Hog Wallow, and there is a stick up between C68 and 69 that is just above the water now. All of the big lake is good to go, just be careful in the back waters and on Alligator Bayou. There are places with beautiful hydrilla, places with pad fields, and places with bare trees. They are all holding fish. Come get ya some!

Even over on the swampy Texas side?

If that's the case, that's awesome news.

Shady glade is the only place open for lunch on the lake. Big pines may be open but its a pretty good run up river. Shady glade has been really good lately.

Listen to these guys, the lake is low! I saw a guy almost get stuck in a go devil this week. I dont think you can even use crips camp ramp right now. Ive been using the shady glade ramp.

The fish Ive been catching are high in the water column on deeper trees.

Let us know how you do.

Yep, none except dead on the bottom of the lake, which is complicating things a bit making the lake even shallower in spots since we are in the beginning stages of a severe drought. Like everyone is saying just take it easy in the historically shallow places EVEN IN THE BOAT ROADS! But, as far as fishing, you can fish anywhere on the lake, which hasn't been possible for at least the last 5 years.

I fished last Friday night and my best 5 went just over 25 lbs. Caught them all super shallow in 89 degree water AT NIGHT! Got on some good schoolers yesterday between 3pm and 6pm. Several Slots with a few good overs mixed in. I left them biting because I got too hot even though I jumped in the lake to cool off, but it was 98 degrees with no clouds.

I know it's cliche', but, find the bait, find the fish. Good Luck

I just moved to Shreveport and have been on it twice in June. It has been fishing great and the lake seems clear of salvinia. This was only my first and second time on the lake but I will be back to it over and over again...

i want to make sure about something else - i think i read that a Texas fishing license is OK for all of Caddo Lake; is that true? not sure i'll venture into Louisiana waters, but just in case i do, i'd like to be legal.
