Let's talk about fishing right after a 3 or 4 day summer rain. With a lot of fresh water being dumped very fast into a lake, does that affect the bite, the habits or the way one should approach fishing? If it does change the habits, how? How long does the change last? Does it push fish out or does it draw them in to the shoreline? What do you have to do to adjust to these changes? What does it do to the fish feeding activity? I think that if I can figure out the answer to these questions as many have already done, I may improve my fish catching or rather fish finding cabilities.

Shallow fish will still be shallow, if not more so. They'll use any hard cover they can find, where there is a little current, as an ambush point. Deep fish won't be much affected, nor will the large schools of shad offshore with them. Although under cloudy, rainy conditions the deep fish will usually suspend. I like pitching a black/blue jig right next to every piece of visible, hard cover like stumps. If those stumps happen to be on a creek channel swing, all the better. Also a black/back chartreuse side squarebill and a black spinnerbait with a #6 gold Colorado blade. Whatever you throw, make contact with the cover/structure. Don't forget a buzzbait, too.

The deep bite won't change much but I would be trying a frog way up shallow or over any new grass or around new trees. Some small fish will be up there atleast

Shallow water fish will move right up with the rising water to take advantage of all the new forage. Bugs, worms and other critters draw fish of all kinds to the shallows with the rise. Bass will follow. Don't be afraid of the stained water. I build a couple of spinner baits for that.
