I was at the last day weigh in and got to meet many of my hero's, KVD wasn't one of them back then.

LOL.. no kidding.
Back then 18.6 was big, you considered yourself lucky to have such a big boat at the time. I remember it well, even being a good boat driver, you still got wet.

Cool video! When I was a kid, I always like the Bob Cobb and the intro to the bassmaster show.

The lake has come a long ways since then. Took the same weight to this past Saturday as it did to win this old 3 day event.

Ray Scott filmed the Classics from the very start, and there's videos on YT going back to Lake Mead and 1971 when everyone fished out of identical 15 footers with in/out motors. The changes going through the 70's and 80's (I started bass fishing in 1979) are remarkable and entertaining, kind of a memory-jolt. Watching guys now in their 70s like Rick Clunn and Bo Dowden, or close like Gary Klein, when they were just starting out is an eye-opener.

Maybe thats a testament to how well the fisheries departments are managing our waters. Takes almost 25 to win a one day out there in the fall now! Awesome footage! Thx
