Ray Scott filmed the Classics from the very start, and there's videos on YT going back to Lake Mead and 1971 when everyone fished out of identical 15 footers with in/out motors. The changes going through the 70's and 80's (I started bass fishing in 1979) are remarkable and entertaining, kind of a memory-jolt. Watching guys now in their 70s like Rick Clunn and Bo Dowden, or close like Gary Klein, when they were just starting out is an eye-opener. Ray Scott was a show unto himself at these events, one of the most entertaining men I've ever had the pleasure of watching and listening to. Absolutely brilliant. Never be another like him.

Isn't this the one that George Cochran won? I went to one day of competition because I was working in Durant at the time.

That's a good video but not that old to me. My boat is older than that. Now the 1979 Classic on Texoma, that's a longggg time ago. Same video source, check it out here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StTkRcdOz_8I thought about going that year to see it and regret that I didn't make the short drive. Didn't come back to Texas for 38 years until Conroe last year. Some great stories from some legends of the sport.
Slide right, coming in .... Fish On!
