So what are some inexpensive must haves on the boat. Mine are these "jig savers. Since I have made a few with the barrel swivel and purchased the Water Gremlin snap on sinkers my recovery rate is about 90%. If you use braid and a barrel swivel with fluorocarbon the larger snaps will slide over the barrel swivel. I feel that it doesn't disturb the brush pile nearly as much as pulling on a jig trying to pull the hook or breaking it completely off. I use both 1/2 and 3/4 oz. There have been times when I have had to drop two weights in order to save a jig. Yes there are times when no matter what you do the jig just doesn't come lose and you have to break the whole rig. >E Nice, I have been doing this for years as well.

hat with broad brim and neck cover Pliars for hook removal scissors or nail clippers to cut line (or nails ) hook sharpening file fire extinguisher (date recent), whistle, horn, large orange plastic flag extra rope anchors with heavy chains(4'for each) and enough rope to anchor in a wind over 20mph wind sock for slow drift rain gear New Skin (cut closer/antiseptic) line for leader sweatband if not wearing a hat long push pole that extends buoy markers enough water and cooler bricks in cooler, snacks (prepackaged) Tums large net in case a large fish of another species hits binoculars or scope (see if someone is in trouble from a distance, see what another boat is catching and where, babe watch, etc.)
