Madness! I read about this every year and am always amazed. I can't believe people start that race in stock, aluminum canoes and plastic SOT and SINK kayaks! I was in Seadrift last week and saw the finish line, 240 or so miles from the start. What amazes me more, is that anyone would do it a second time. Or numerous times. Thanks for posting that. When I worked the E.R in Aransas Pass, we would usually get one or two that were in rough shape when they got to the finish. One guy didn't have much hide left on the palms of his hands.
