For those that are into such marathon race viewing, we're just about at the halfway mark with 12 hours and 45 minutes left. There are about another 3.5 hours left of darkness before the sun starts coming up.

Anyway, it's on the Velocity channel this year and is, by far, the best coverage we've gotten of the race here in the US (as compared to past years). They're doing a much better job with it than Fox did when they had it.

If y'all get Velocity and are around the house tonight, check some of it out.

And if you Google it, Ford has a pretty cool live feed going with in-car camera shots on YouTube.

One of the coolest tracks and racing venues anywhere. I fully expected to see Steve McQueen sitting in the bar there.

I love this type of racing, too. I hope this last 4 minutes goes well for the Toyota team - I'd love to see Alonso take a win here.

Assuming they can finish this last 4 minutes with the win they've finally earned, it might seal the deal on Fernando Alonso coming to Indycar next year. You *know* he'll want to cap off his career with an Indy 500 win. As a fan of his, I'd sure enjoy seeing him getting it. Monaco, Le Mans, and Indy...that'd be sweet, man.

Montoya is sitting at the cusp of the triple crown, too. Somebody needs to get him in a P1 car next year so he can have a shot at it, as well.

I sure miss seeing the Audi LMP1's out there.

Congrats to Alonso, though.

Cool to see Dr. McSteamy�s team win their division.

Those cars are trick but this year was not a race. Toyota is the only car in its class.

He hung in there like a champ, too. He didn't sleep a wink all night.

GTE Pro class was stellar.

Dieselgate killed LMP1. The whole division is going away in 2020.

...which sucks, by the way. That class, in its prime, was the pinnacle of bada**ery.

I know. I just can't get into class wins. I only care about the overall and this was a Toyota cake walk.
