Hello.

1. Say, could someone please tell me where a good place for me to wet a hook while I'm in the Rockport area? I don't have a boat.

2. I've seen places such as Pete's Bend and Italian Bend listed for fishing, but I think that would be with a boat. Are those places capable to be accessed from the shoreline? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated by this novice fisherman.

3. If I would go to Goose Island state park, where would you fish if you were going there?

Thank you!
Roger

For $55 you can rent a fishing kayak and get into all kinds of fun.

Kayak rental is a great option. Also post your question in the saltwater section. Way more up to date info including bank/surf coastal fishing there than the freshwater section. thumb Good luck!

You can go to Port Bay Road Kayak Launch and wade toward the grass island, easily. Pretty good fishing. Wading from the Goose Island Pier is good, but the roads to it are still shut off. The Lighthouse Lakes frontage is a good place to wade. Just go out far enough to cast into the Shrimp Boat Channel. Lots of Red & Black Drum. Also, Harbor Island has some good wade area, just before the big ship piers. And when you leave Aransas Pass, just over the ICW, on either side are good wading spots. Buy some live croakers, shrimp, or finger mullet for best results. Good luck! IslandJim
