We will be in Destin, FL in a few weeks and wanted to try and find a BAY guide there for just a half day trip. Does anyone know/recommend someone there? I can find several with google but thought I’d try and see if there were any recommendations here first. Thanks!

i'd go offshore. we were there a few years ago with our boat and fished both bay and offshore. the bay was dead. really found very little life in it. only fish we caught were trash around bridge pilings. we had much better luck offshore fishing near shore rock piles.

I spend the whole time chumming the fish when I go offshore so I’d rather not chance that again. I love fishing offshore but I’ve also wasted a lot of money being miserable! Haha

We were out there last week and went offshore. Red snapper season is in right now (federal limit 2). My biggest complaint is that on a 6 hour trip we spent very little time actually fishing. We caught (6 people) our snapper limit, several nice Kingfish, trigger fish and vermillion really quick. Afterwords we were given the option to move somewhere else to catch vermillion or troll for large fish. I wish we would have opted to continue bottom fishing for vermillion...

I was there this time last year, did a 6 hour trip, went and caught our snapper in about 30 min and were headed back in. Didn't get a chance to go off shore last year, but I will be there starting Saturday and I am going offshore on the 5th.
