would be a lot cheaper... at least if you are a good swimmer - that said... do it with a buddy (who is also a swimmer) - never know what is down there and it can get messy quick. Make sure you have a knife handy(on you) as you dive.

What lake? 11 feet is a recreational swim in the summer. My wife lost her cell phone in about 14 feet last summer.. I swam down, got it (took a couple tries in murky water), but it still works today.

at 11 ft a good wind storm and waves will move everything. Sooner then later is my advice.

Get someone with downscan to locate the kayak so you're diving blind as well.

That's the sporting way to spear fish.

Sorry guys, I left out the word "not". It should have read "not diving blind".

Black Dog did the kayak sink or did you just lose gear out of it when you flipped it.

Common sense would tell me he rolled the kayak and he lost items that were in it. It would be very difficult to sink a kayak. hammer

Huckleberry I've got an old one that has zero flotation, it was made in San Angelo and I promise I've sunk it one time. Bought it forty something years ago. It's called Lampro Company. Total fiberglass and only seven foot long. Looks more like a Canoe but is sold as a kayak. They had one that had a box in the center and the trolling motor clamped to the box that was open at both ends.
Also my son has a kayak that was sunk in the red mud that I recovered as only the bow was sticking out at lake champion. I found it with my Skeeter bass boat fishing so finally pulled it up and towed it in. Son put new hatches on it and his wife now fishes in it.
My Widerness Systems kayak is probably unsinkable though.
But the old ones are not unsinkable.
