Im in the beginning stages of making a knife and was wondering if anyone on here makes their own?

Im using a farrier rasp for the blade and copper for the pins and bolster. My handle is going to be a little to big and bulky but I wanted to make it from a deer shed antler I found in a specific area, so ill live with it.

Right on. Mine will be pretty crude, but Im making them to work with.

I just "finished" a little all steel knife to use as a utility/shop type knife and the antler handle one will stay in my whitetail pack and be used to break down at least one buck a year and hopefully a doe or two and any other hunting need that arises.

I make them by melting toothbrushes.

some of them smell pretty bad

I would love to use a forge and all that but general construction tools are all im using for now.

THF knife section is very helpful. They are good folks.

I enjoy it and have made a couple blades from O1 steel. I can�t get them sharp as heck. Cut a tomato with almost zero pressure. I will have a forge set up within a year...goal
