I'm wanting to try my luck for hybrids and stripers and heard a Splasher will help. Looking for suggestions on what and how to mount a shield to deflect the water. Thx

I have seen some guys using plastic lids to those storage boxes from Walmart or target mounted to the shaft of the TM.

Maybe try a weed eater guard? The right one might just clamp on with little effort.

Dont have a picture at the moment but.....
I drilled a hole same size as motor shaft in a 16" long 2x4, then split 2x4 lengthwise with a band saw, right through middle of hole I just drilled. I then attached portion of a truck mudflap to one 1/2 of 2x4. I cut hole in mudflap same size as shaft and split it to the edge so it could slip around shaft. Drilled two holes on either side of shaft hole across the remaining loose section of 2x4. That allowed me to screw both halves of 2x4 together, and band saw blade width being removed while cutting made it clamp to shaft nice and snug. Has just enough friction to allow it to move either direction to eliminate the water splashing into the boat.Used sheetrock screws to join two parts of 2x4 back together. If it gets loose over time, I will just pass through centerline with bandsaw again.- Happy trails

I do not have a shield on my splasher but the weed eater guard is a great idea. I just found this on ebay, not sure how durable it is but look perfect.

Thx everybody. The weed eater guard would probably work easier for my set up.

I used a plastic cutting board, and trimmed into shape, I needed, with roto zip. Works great
