Fill the sink up with ice water. It will make the pipe contract a little, maybe just enough to make the plastic nut easier to get off. If that doesnt work, you can always just soak your injured finger in it.

Big channel locks and go in vertically on em. Worked for me on mine.

Also watch the valves, they can get iffy if you start messing with them and they are old.

If you cant get any kind of pliers/vice grips on it,take a long flathead screwdriver, sharpen the blade on your bench grinder, place it on the plastic nut and start tapping on the screwdriver in a counter clockwise direction. The sharpened blade will cut its own groove in the nut. Be patient, keep tapping,it will turn.

Proof I'm not a complete idiot. The other faucet. Removed, in the process of cleaning the sink, and going to be replaced. Yes, before we have any more stupid questions, I do have plumbers putty.

I would really love to meet the gorilla that monkeyed on that one washer. Something along the lines "You put the ________ thing on there. Now take it off."

Cooling down the sink isn't going to do anything for the attaching washer that is screwed onto the hot water pipe. This is two different sinks in the house.

It would have practically fallen off if you had tried it. Now I feel silly for trying to help.

Muh feelings.
