Thanks for the info guys!! Definitely gonna stay away from a tube trailer. Right now I'm leaning toward a Roadmaster (made in Ft Worth)(thanks for the suggestion 09wingates) or a Magnum (made in Austin)(thanks for the suggestion Curtbass). Both steel C channel painted trailers. Any words good or bad on these two.

I have had a roadmaster channel type for about 10 years that replaced my tube trailer. No issues. It stays under a carport and still looks very good with original bunks. Only issue I had with it were the bunk bolts where the nuts would back off. A double nut fixed that.

Dad had a tube trailer under a Tracker rust out and tear in two right behind the axle nearly dumping his boat on the street. He ordered a new one from Roadrunner and it was a great trailer!

Amera Trail C-Channel or aluminum trailers. Very well-built.

I was surprised a few years ago that Skeeter didnt go out of business simply because of their selling their boats on EZ Loader trailers! Several of my friends trailers were literally melting and falling apart under their boats. High end boat on an absolute junk trailer. That problem is long over. Skeeter now manufactures their own trailers now. To early to call it a litmus test yet and time will tell but Ive never heard any thing bad since they changed. Kinda pricey but do you know you can get an exact duplicate Ranger Trail trailer from Ranger direct? When my old 361v got totaled out on the freeway I priced a complete new matching trailer direct from Ranger. Just call the plant direct for a quote.

Thanks 361! Im actually waiting to get word back from Ranger but I expect them to be too high for what I get. Plus, Im not excited about having to replace one of those fiberglass fenders if I have a blowout and Im not sure if steel fenders are even an option but Im still going to check with them.

i had a 97 Skeeter for 20 yrs and it came with a c channel trailer. Bought a used 2008 20i and has a tube trailer, couldn't beleve it. Love the boat but do not like the trailer at all. I fish Whitney exclusively, just waiting for trailer to rust away. I'm sure there's another trailer in my future. By the way sold my old boat to a buddy and trailer is doing just fine. Stay away from tube.

I am surprised it took skeeter so long to make a change, they had trailers breaking and dumping boats on the the road all over the place, would have happened to mine also if I had not seen one of these threads and checked my trailer more closely.

Skeeter and EZ Loader have had a long time relationship going back into the late 70's. My grandfather was a Skeeter salesman and knew the owner of TI trailers, Dallas Gross (which sold to EZ Loader in 1984) and got a deal made with the two of them. I totally agree tube trailers are trash but they also have made channel trailers for a long time as well. Remember, Skeeter is the one who chose what trailer model they wanted. Why they (or anyone) did so is just craziness. TI/EZ Loader made channel trailers for Champion, Cobra/Viper, Hawk, Legend and Charger for years. Knock on wood, mine Channel trailer is still running strong.

I love the smell of two stroke in the morning.

Steel is sold by the pound. It takes fewer pounds of steel to make a tube frame trailer. That is why some boat companies use tube frame trailers. They are cutting corners that will cost you down the road.
