Attempting to unscrew the mounting bracket where the bathroom faucet is attached to the sink and some idiot monkeyed it on there so tight I can't get it off. I don't have the hand strength to turn it and there's not really space for pliers.
Ideas?

This is the old one I'm trying to remove.

Here's the new one with a better picture of the washers the idiot installer put in with a torque wrench.

About to take a dremel after the washers. They're just plastic and I'm breaking corners off trying to unscrew them.

If you can’t get it then your best bet is to cut a slit into the nut and it should unscrew from there.

I might add some penetrating oil and a hammer. That's a PITA and cramped as can be I'm sure.

WD-40 on the threaded pipes, let sit for a few minutes. Vise grips on the washer/nut

Now that I've banged the #@$% out of my knuckles and squished my fingers and broken two nails into the quick, got mad and went to get the dremel.

And that's neatly tucked away on the on the top shelf in the garage where even on my tiptoes on the top rung of my kitchen ladder, I can barely reach.

I got one off, but the other one won't budge no matter how much blood and colorful language gets hurled at it.

f*&^ it. He can get the dadgum dremel down when he gets home.

Now to do the other one.

Fill the sink up with ice water. It will make the pipe contract a little, maybe just enough to make the plastic nut easier to get off. If that doesn’t work, you can always just soak your injured finger in it.

Big channel locks and go in vertically on em. Worked for me on mine.

Also watch the valves, they can get iffy if you start messing with them and they are old.

If you cant get any kind of pliers/vice grips on it,take a long flathead screwdriver, sharpen the blade on your bench grinder, place it on the plastic nut and start tapping on the screwdriver in a counter clockwise direction. The sharpened blade will cut its own groove in the nut. Be patient, keep tapping,it will turn.

Proof I'm not a complete idiot. The other faucet. Removed, in the process of cleaning the sink, and going to be replaced. Yes, before we have any more stupid questions, I do have plumbers putty.

I would really love to meet the gorilla that monkeyed on that one washer. Something along the lines "You put the ________ thing on there. Now take it off."

Cooling down the sink isn't going to do anything for the attaching washer that is screwed onto the hot water pipe. This is two different sinks in the house.

It would have practically fallen off if you had tried it. Now I feel silly for trying to help.

Muh feelings.

Sorry I didnt see this earlier. Theres actually a really simple trick for this.

Get you a household vacuum cleaner extention pipe and cut 4 slots in it at 90 degree angles. Make the slots about 1/2 inch long. Then you can stick that up in the small space and it's like a really long handle that apply equal pressure to each tab on the faucet retainer nut. Then you can get your channel locks or what ever pliers and twist away. Not that you will do that again but has saved me many busted knuckles and curse words over the years.
