Mine was this tennis racket with a battery in it.
You swat flies and goes zap!
Its loads of fun and the wife hates it.
Best gift ever.

I don't expect anything because I had fun becoming a Father but I usually get some nice stuff from the wife and kids. It's even better now that the kids are through college and making bank but they have all been special to me.

Funny story - a few years back my wife bought me a 45 qt Yeti and then packed it with a bunch of other gifts (shoes, shirts, shorts, fishing gear, jerky/candy, etc.). I had always told her that I would never buy a Yeti for myself because they were overpriced and I am cheap with certain things. She said she got it because I "work hard", "deserved it", yada yada yada. Nice gesture but I was still paying for it so I took it back to Academy and got my $350 back and bought their Magellan one which was very similar for $199.00 and then bought me $150 worth of fishing gear with the difference. I then took the Yeti sticker and put it on the Magellan and she still thinks it's the Yeti she had bought.

This plaque that my daughters made for me in 1984. I keep it on my desk, it is the best ever in many ways.

My best fathers day started off as the worst.

Wife told me she was pregnant again...had a positive stick and everything. She knew I would be upset, but acted like "isn't this the best fathers day news ever". For the first time ever I had hoped that she had cheated on me so there was hope it wasn't mine.

We had just gotten our second child out of diapers and life was getting good. I cried. Man tears. The thought of the chaos, worries, sleeplessness, and doctor bills that come with babies...and more diapers and formula...dear lord, all of the money we had just freed up...all of the hopes, goals, and ambitions we'd been planning on...gone. At least for a couple more years.

How would I ever get her back to work. She's going to make a career out of this stay at home shopper mom thing.

I need a vasectomy...but months ago. Vomiting ensued. I think this was the only time in my life I've ever experienced true depression.

That's when she told me it was a joke...I cried more. Joy tears. I think this is what triggered a kidney stone that would essentially cripple me over the next few days. It was my personal record. Over a cm. 12 mm to be exact.

My gift? To appreciate what I have. And Rangers tickets for my son, my dad, and myself weren't bad either.

I'm still putting off the vasectomy, but this reminded me I should get that done.

My wife's birthday is June 19. I'm pretty lucky if I get a "Sup?" for Father's Day. Last year, FD was on the 19th. I got to take my wife out for dinner.
