Last Friday I resigned from my job. A place that I loved very very much. It had weighed heavy on my heart for sometime. I have nearly 19 years and 5 months of memories at that place. I helped my dad build something truly special and I dont look back with a single bit of regret. I need this, I need something new. Something I can say that I did without the comfort zone of working for my family.

While painful on so many fronts, take heart because leaving a successful family business, even one you were instrumental in building, is often the starting point for the all-important quest for independence, self-reliance, and the spiritual awakening Thoreau wrote about in Walden.
Relax. Enjoy the beach and the journey ahead.
