I haven't seen one yet but Loomis has a step up from the NRX with a $675 kinda price tag. Not sure how much better it could be but heard it's about 70% of the NRX weight(that's pretty freaking light).

Just looked one up and it is some kind of collaboration between Shimano and Loomis.

There really is no collaboration since G.Loomis is Shimano. The rod series is Conquest and from the reviews I've read the Conquest is a bit different than the NRX but not really an improvement. $675 is a $125 premium over the NRX which is mighty pricey in it's own right.

You may want to consider rod warranty when buying a rod as expensive as the NRX or Helium. I have a Helium 2, and I've had it for 8 year or so with no issues, but I think Kistler warranty isn't lifetime.

the NRX rods have a great warranty. I actually broke one of mine at the handle by stepping on it and they replaced the entire rod, even though it was my fault, for like $100.

I havent used the NRX, but I throw Heliums and ZBones and theyre by far the most sensitive rod Ive used.
