Just wondering if anyone on here fishes any of the city lake's around Amarillo and Canyon and if so what all do you catch and what on? Also wondering if anyone knows of any private ponds in the Amarillo area that someone could possibly get permission to fish on.

Medipark has sunfish and small catfish or bull heads. McDonald lake has bass and larger catfish. Southeast park has bass and crappie, but not much shore access because of the weeds. Never fished Thompson park just because there's some kinda shady stuff goes on there, but I hang out there some and never been bothered.

Southeast park in Canyon is nice. Talked to a park worker who claimed they shocked it and found trophy bass in it, but for some reason I don't have much luck there.

I fish Southeast in Canyon and I catch Bass frequently but most are about a pound and a half or less but this year I have caught 3 in the 3 to 4 pound range. Catch tons of small Channel cats and small crappie as well.

Never have any luck at MacDonald mostly carp and mud cat. I have seen some huge channel cat caught but I have yet to hook one. I've tried liver, worms, shrimp, hot dogs, stink baits with no catfish. I have heard there are bass in there but have never caught one or seen any caught. I have seen some huge dead crappie floating around but no luck there either. Any pointers or advice on what to use and all would be greatly appreciated.

Haven't caught anything out of Southeast in Amarillo either. I hear it's full of large bass and crappie and I've thrown everything I own with no success.
