I've been fishing quite a bit lately but haven't been posting results since 3/4 - 1 1/2 lb bass aren't really that impressive. However I have caught a couple of PB.
The first is a crappie I caught a couple of months ago. I was fishing a holding pond in a housing addition and caught this:
It went 1.69 lb.
Then the week before last I was fishing a clouser crawdad. The water was pretty clear and on my second cast I was watching the crawdad sink and saw a bass rising up to it. I never felt the bass strike or my line move, but the crawdad disappeared so I strip set the hook and the fish was on. It jumped once so I lowered the rod to keep it from jumping again and played it out.
The fish was 21". However my scale read 1.8. I was really po'd because it was a fairly expensive Rapala scale and I knew the bass was bigger than that.
When I got home I decided to test the scale against a digital food scale. That's when I noticed that the Rapala was measuring in kg instead of lb. That made it a 3.96 which I am rounding up to 4 lb 0 oz.
I went ahead and tested the Rapala against the food scale and it was accurate.
Both fish were caught on a 6 wt Recon I got as a Christmas present to myself.
