Had a good weekend, hooked a big blue on Lake Palo Pinto, these fish were introduced to the lake back in 2007 and the current recorded record is 21.86 in 2015 by a friend Jake Price...I didn't have the fish weighed due to the drive we would have had to make with her, and i didnt want to jeopardize the health of the fish...I'm guessing she is close to 30# (give or take) and around 10yrs old, she survived a massive drought when the lake was down close to 10% comasity a few years back

for the Yellow, she was caught 3 hrs later...close to the same weight...guessing in the 30's (give or take)

Both fish were caught on rod and reels using cut shad....Blue was in 4-8' and Yellow was in 15-20'

Both fish are still swimming today.

I have been on this lake since 82' and seen it at its highest and lowest...She has taken care of me and I plan on returning the favor. your right, she is bouncing back, and producing bigger and healthier fish!

Now if we could find the Hybrids...

Yeah Jason and Jake borrowed my boat a couple times out there this winter and I think they caught one in the 28 range.

Hybrids and sandies are around the lights at night...we used a 4"rubber pearl jig with a green tail and hit the lights after dark, just got to get below the gar, we put 15 in the boat Fri night

Well Done!!! Looks like the Blue could range from 30# to 42#. My bet would be nearer 36 to 42#. Definitely a hefty one for sure!

The Yellow (Op) looks to be 30 to 37 pounds (my bet would be nearer 32 to 35#).

Nice "HOGS"! Good job! cheers

Side Note: You may want to consider getting your own scale and having it certified! I have a scale that is certified and is used as a public weigh station for Parks&Wildlife. It is also portable and I can weigh fish on the lake! Just for your FYI! Again super fish. thumb
