Going to bass pro or Cabela’s soon to get a fly setup. I had one at one point and never used It. Now I’m itching to fly fish.
What do I need for all around freshwater fishing? Like if I wanted to walk out of the store ready to go fishing for panfish and bass, what all would I need, including recommendations on flies.
Thanks so much

For a rod and reel I would look at a 6wt TFO combo. They are out of Dallas and offer a lifetime warranty. They are complete with line but I don’t know if they include leaders.

For flies I would get a few buggy looking ones with rubber legs maybe a few clouser minnows. If you see any Llano bugs pick them up, they are a great panfish and bass fly.

If your going to get waders I would look at their redhead or white river brands. Bass Pro offers a lifetime warranty on their store branded waders.

On flies, get some olive woolly buggers also, size 6 or 8

The 5/6 weight CGR is a nice sunfish/bass rod. Short Glass rods are real nice out especially where there’s any cover to contend with.

I would not go any heavier than a 4 weight especially if you are going to go for Blue Gill. The 4 weight can handle big fish too.
