I am looking for recommendations for a comfortable pair of sunglass while fishing in the summer months. I wanted to know what brand you guys suggest and model (if applicable). I know polarized is a must and I have a pair of costas now but looking to upgrade for fathers day. Thanks Y'all.

I just went down and ordered a couple sets of polarized wrap around prescription sunglasses from the big box eyeglass store...one of them was in a dark lens for sunny weather and the other was in an amber lens for cloudy days. That said, I tried on every pair of wraparounds in the store, and there was only one frame that fit well and comfortably., so I picked that one...here is the thing...different head shapes require you to be very picky about which style you choose depending on manufacturer, so you have to try them all, to figure it out. Otherwise stated, when you change brands of sunglasses, you have to try every style of that brand to find one that fits your head...then buy a pair or two of them...and when you hear they have been discontinued, go buy a couple more pair...

As far as a brand of non prescriptions, I would probably go with Costas in that blue lens, but I would try every design they had to get one that fits comfortably. BTW Costas are cheap compared to the prescription wraparounds...but if you wear eyeglasses, going the prescription route is better as there is no headache involved after a half day of wearing nonprescription sunglasses...I get so tired of that.

I currently have Oakleys, but in my opinion, there is nothing better than Costa 580 glass.

Yep. I have had Oakley, Maui Jim, Ray Ban and Costa over the years, and I can say the Costa 580G lenses are the best. Maui Jim is a close second IMO.

I've had the same pair of Maui Jim's for 9 years. About to send them back for new lenses. Really great glasses.

I mean, my $10 pair of Berkeleys from Academy are pretty sweet. Even float in the water. What more do you need?

I was a Costa diehard for years. Use to sell them at a couple places that I worked at in the past. But for the last 8 or so years I have been disappointed in the material of the frames that they started using. I have no complaints about their lenses but the last 4 or 5 pair that I purchased the frames would "stretch" out after about a month and I couldn't keep them on my face. Every time I would look down they would just fall off. I went to WileyX mainly because of the z87 rating for work and was happy with them. About two years ago I decided to go with a prescription pair and went with Oakleys. They were great until I broke one of the temple pieces and couldn't get a replacement. I got so spoiled with my prescription pair that I took a pair of my WileyX's in and had them put prescription bifocals in them. I can say that these are the most durable frames that I have ever had. I am tough on frames and these have held up very well and they stay on my face. I recently purchased a non script pair of Smith sunglasses and so far they have a very good pair of glasses and the lenses are very comparable to the Costa lenses. They have definitely upped their game in the sunglass market.

I have three pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. I have also owned Costa's and Oakley's. Hands down, Maui Jim's are the best, but be prepared for 'sticker shock'.

Revo sunglasses. Personally, I think theyre better than Costa. I wanted something not everyone has. Every single person you see has costas on....Not to mention, their Upgrade Program which give you 40% off your next pair.... Ive got the Guide frame with deep water lense.

These are great for fishing. They are rugged, but light weigh and they float.
Several times a year they have a BOGO deal. I just got 2 pair on the last deal.

I have the Costa Saltbreaks in the 580 Blue and love them. I am thinking of moving to the Fantails for just a bit better fit. I am hard on my glasses and I have had not a problem out of them and the customer service is first class. I have used about all of the glasses on the market and Costa is the way to go. I have tons of fishing buddies and they all where Costas in some version or another.

I have tried several brands and 3 different styles of Costa's and I always end up wearing Oakley Flak Jacket 2 XLJ's with the Prizm (now) lenses in them.

I started wearing Half Jackets years ago and then Flak Jackets and now the Flak Jacket 2's.

Everyone is different and all of the top brands are excellent eye wear so get what fits you and fish on! cheers
