thanks for all the info provided on this topic. i think i'll:
1. get durasafe locks for electronics and trolling motor. 2. take my rods and tackle into my room, or lock them in the truck. 3. use the boat cover. 4. pick a hotel with a well lighted parking area.
and, even with that, know that if someone really wants your stuff, they will get it.
