Well, here it is.
I liked to sit outside and hear the rain hit the tin roof on the backporch.
However, the rain would flow onto the porch and bring in mud for me to trek into the house.

So I built the deck to sit on top of the concrete slab.

10'x10'
Got the plans from familyhandyman.com

The deck boards are 1x6s
It was sealed/stained with a semi-dark Thompson's so it can look like cedar.

After installation was done, but before the deck boards were stained/sealed.

Here's what it was before.
The runners were 2x4s. I bought some PVC moulding boards and made about 55 - 1/4" spacers. This way the water dries out faster and the 2x4s aren't sitting in water for too long. You can see the spacers on the top left hand corner.

Like the stain. Good job . cheers

I need to cover my back patio but I haven't figured out the angle I'll need for run off . If I slope it too much I'll have to duck at the lower end .

Guess I could run a gutter where the cover attaches to the house ?
