5/30/2018What a difference a day makes! After a very slow trip last night, I was concerned about what we would find on the water tonight. When I got to the boat ramp this evening, I knew things were going to be better, with substantially higher tide levels and strong SE wind. I had repeat customer joshua warner group of 2 onboard tonight. Wind conditions were poor, with SE wind at 18mph, shifting SSE after dark. The tide was up at normal levels, and water temps were noticeably cooler than previous nights (a function of increased winds). With the bright full moon rising 45 minutes after dark tonight, I knew we had a good shot at getting some fish early in the trip. The gigging action was fast and steady tonight over sand and grass bottom, with plenty of active flounder prowling the flats. Water clarity was good also, making for easier spotting of fish in areas with surface ripples from gusty winds. We ended with a 10 flounder limit plus 2 sheepshead. All of the flounder tonight were in the 16-19" range. Upcoming open dates: June: 13, 14, 28 July: 6-12, 15-18, 22-24, 26-28, 30, 31 August: 2-5, 7-17, 19-26, 28, 29, 31I also do "late trips" if I finish quickly with my first group. Late trips usually leave the dock 11pm-1am. Please call for availability. This is the best way to get a trip on short notice when I am already booked. Price: $450 for 2 people, $100 each additional person, up to 6 people Capt. Rick Hammond Night Stalker Guide Service - Rockport, TX nightstalkerguideservice.com 361-229-6053
