The primer bulb should remain hard once fully primed correct?

I'll prime the bulb till it is full and then about 30 minutes later I need to prime it again. I don't believe this is normal.

sounds like an air leak in line/bulb.

Checked all fuel connections from tank to outboard, no leaks, solid connections. Replaced the primer bulb with a new one. Primer still will not stay firm.

So if I disconnect fuel line from outboard the primer bulb will remain firm. I hook it back up to the outboard and with in 1 minute primer will be soft again.

So I checked the outboard fuel line connections under the cowling, didn't see any leaks, lines are all snug with fuel clamps on them. Could it be the fuel line connector port? If so wouldn't it leak fuel if it was bad?

Motor is only 6 months old btw.

be sure the bulb is installed in the correct direction! There is an arrow on the bulb....should point toward the motor.
