Hey guys, I have a 2007 optimax 200h.p. I have two bad coils. I have checked on new coils and the mercury brand are anywhere from 125.00 to 140.00 apiece. I have found off brands online from 40.00 to 60.00 each. has anyone had any experience with the off brands and how did they work for you. Thanks again.

Yep, I had to replace coil #6 on my 2008 225. I can't remember the exact brand, but it was like $60 on eBay. No problems!

2007-2008 Optimax's had a recall on ignitions coil. If you look on the coil there is a serial number.. I forgot the number (look it up,) but there's a number that will tell you if the coils are the updated ones or the original ones.
