I am using a Dobyns 805 CB RM rod with an old 200B5 for a reel. WORKS PERFECT for the big bruizers. I have been using this setup for quite a while and LOVE it for the big deep diving CBs. They are BUILT for it and work very well. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe an dgood luck.

OH, I have 14 of the old Shimano 200B reels and they still work like a charm..

That's what I throw and I fish it almost every time I'm on the water. I don't whip the 10XD's on that rod but I do chunk it out there pretty good. If I felt like I had to muscle it as hard as I can throw it I throw it on a Dobyn's 795 swimbait rod. Doesn't happen often but I have in the past.

I use 10 and 12# test on my cranking reels. In open water that is. I use 15 or 17 on heavy cover lakes. Just a better feeling for me, knowing I can normally get them back. I use McCoys Mean Green for the stretch, the lack of memory and the sheer strength of the line. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck. Sorry I didn't enclose that to begin with.
