I passed by on in Bossier a city bass pro this weekend that had dual poles and decent graphs for $58k...I also saw an add in a magazine for a similar Skeeter package for $68k. Didnt really pay attention to either, but its not hard to change a few things and get to $10k.

I've run a Z-8 since 2010. I drive it like I stole it. Definetly doesn't ride great, but the front deck fishes as good as ANY boat I've ever fished out of. It is plenty stable in the roughest of conditions and the live wells are also much larger than Ranger or Skeeter. An over can actually swim around. Now, that being said, I'm in the market for a new boat, and will definetly go with Ranger. You just can't beat the ride. eeks

The newer Nitros are laid out great. They also seem to be going up in quality but are still a 2nd tier boat when compared to Ranger, BassCat, Skeeter or Phoenix.

When your adding on standard features as options, well maybe a Nitro is not for you. Pro package is 56k with everything u mentioned, easy to read, but I am guessing some don't want too. Only thing u would need to add is a Ultrex upgrade. I know a 920 with those option is a bit more, a 720 maybe not too far off.

Many try to compare non current to Nitro s current year models. And that's is when u can get closer to the price.

That 45k Nitro was a very good price, should have listed it higher. 10k on a 2 year old boat, I don't think that is possible on a 2 year old Ranger. How u want to loose your 10k-15k is up to you on whatever boat you buy.

I would tell you to buy the boat you think is a better value, cause that is all that matters.

Resale is affected by the number of boats out there and the deals on new ones. Nitro out sells them all so there is more on the after market.

Its a great boat and a good price. Most people just think of the old school bargain Nitro and carry that mentality of the brand forever. (Cant teach an old dog...).
Boat fishes great.

Dont listen to the Phoenix owner attacks. Phoenix owners are the hipsters of bass fishing. It was new and different than what everyone else had so that made it better and everyone else is inferior for not owning one.

my experiences with the larger livewells is bad. You don't want fish swimming around in a livewell. Or sloshing around in an under filled livewell. It causes them stress and makes them consume more O2. The mortality rates are higher when this happens. The Skeeter (can't speak for ranger as I have never owned one) livewells are designed to fill to the top and allow the fish to rest on top/below one another. This is how they normally setup when in very close proximity to each other in the wild. This reduces stress and makes them less likely to slosh around, swim, etc. it keeps them healthier and safer, reducing livewell mortality.

This is from experience as I have owned a Nitro.

It's the little things that make the boat less desired by me. They are not bad boats. They are not exactly "well designed" boats either.

But yeh, when your standing on the front deck fishing, they are all about the same. It's the little things that make all the big differences.
