As mentioned, I retie after I get an abraded line, or nicks or knots or whatever. I use McCoys Mean Green and normally do not have to retie often. Matter of Fact, I have a dedicated deep diving rod that I have had the same line on for 8 years now. STILL good, just have to stretch it out when you get to the water. Of course, McCoys is a little more expensive than mono, but have saved tons because of the longevity of it. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Must not throw a deep crank much...8 years? To the OPs post I retie when there's an abrasion or after I catch a 3-4 fish on flouro/mono. With braid normally retie every 2-3 trips unless it's started to wear.

No sire, it is a special rod the I break out only for T's, when they are deep. I also used it on Falcon 3 or 4 years ago and caught my 5th biggest fish of 9.17 lbs. I try to take good care of it and it takes care of me. It just FEELS right. SO, YES, it does not get much use, except when the occasion comes up to use it again. SPECIAL ROD, special line and a GREAT SETUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of a KIND, I believe, the way it has lasted. Only gets used a few times a year, if at all. THANKS for the memories it has provided me, too. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Good deal Mr. Rains. I guess I don't trust my line enough. I too have a set up for deep cranks that barely gets any use but I change the line every 6 months or so.
