Check out Fred’s Crank Launcher by Irod. I have had several deep crank rods, Dobyns, power tackle, KVD, this rod is my favorite. Can throw 10xd down to 6xd a mile and is super light but tons of power. Check them out!

7’2” shimano zodias MH glass with a Curado K 6:2:1
Hands down my favorite deep cranking set up & ive tried a bunch of different ones. What line are you using on that set-up? Thamks 14-16lbs sunline sniper which is thinner than other brands at the same pound test.

I throw a Kistler KLX Reel N Feel. 7’11” Med/hvy for 8XD. 6.3:1 deep spool reel. I use a Curado Best rod I’ve used to far That rod is awesome. You can throw a lure as light as a 5XD on it too.

Jobe99,
I like the McCoys line a lot better. It does not have the memory that the CXX does and it is a smaller diameter than it, or it was when I first started using McCoys. I have had line on a reel for 8 years now and it is still good. I have to pull it and stretch it a little bit, but still good line and strong. Hope this helps. And no, I am not sponsored b y McCoys, neither. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.
