The list is out now. Always a good read. Their list is usually pretty reliable. Never been disappointed in any place they list high on list.

Old news......came out in June 2017. List is skewed, too. I never seen T-Man's BBQ on the list.

I just use the app always shows whats near. It has good reviews for 407 just not in the top 50, and as good as it is the top 50 is tough to break.

407 had not been open long enough last year (I think that's what Bryan said)to make the 2017 list.
I think they just put the Top 50 issue out every other year.

PGR is correct. The next Top 50 will be around 2020. The current issue is a re-hash, however they did have a list of "new hot" BBQ places that weren't eligible for last year's list.

I think this was an all encompassing list of "other joints" in the area not on the Top 50

The first time I looked at the list I tried Tyler's BBQ in Amarillo. It sucked.

My buddy Jordan is the real deal and it will be well worth your drive to the Original Bodacious on Mobberly Ave in Longview. After re-opening his father-in-law's original joint, he broke into Texas Monthly's 2017 Top 5 at #3 and has been in several other publications since.

I am glad to see the original Bodacious return to excellence. Back in the day, I lived in Longview and ate there a lot. I believe the guy who owned it was named Roland. Great guy with great bbq.

The first time I looked at the list I tried Tyler's BBQ in Amarillo. It sucked. You're right! If you want good BBQ in Amarillo go south way down Western St. about as far as you can go to Spicy Mikes BBQ you can thank me latter. You might need to get there early

HasBen you are correct. Roland started Bodacious BBQ with the Mobberly Ave location. Roland's health forced him to close, but his son-in-law, Jordan, re-opened it a few years back. Jordan's brisket and ribs aren't your average Bodacious BBQ. He makes a variety of his own sausage daily. On the weekends he usually shows off his Cordon Bleu talents with one of his wicked specialties. Roland is doing fine these days and even comes by his "old joint" and hangs out from time to time. Here's a really good read from an article in Longview News-Journal about the Original Bodacious: https://www.news-journal.com/features/ta...be681e0cf3.html
