Gentlemen, I'm taking my daughter to see her grandparents and thought I would take my kayak up there to have a little R&R (I'm from Bryan). I had thought about going to Lake Tawakoni, but after it occurred to me that due to Memorial Day, every water skier and jet ski within 100 mile radius would be there. Thus making fishing from a kayak, an endeavor of futility. So I thought I would be better off hiding out in the timbers of Fork. I thought I would stay north of the 515 bridges. So would I be better off on the east or west fork? Approximate water depth? Or is there somewhere else I should focus? I haven't fished Fork since I was 18, and that was 20+ yrs ago. I thank you for any and all advice I can get.

Any timber in 22 to 40 FOW, down 10 to 20 feet.
North or south of the 515. It will not take long!

Probably a little more visible timber on the east fork above 515. Enough timber up there, the jet fleas usually stay down lake. But there will be enough bass boats there to make it seem like IH 35. Be careful and put up a big orange flag.

First off, thank you She CrappieKilla and Ken Gaby. That is the type of information I was looking for and expecting. Thank you crapicat for the welcome, and you are correct in what I already knew. I do a lot more reading than I do posting, not because I'm trolling, but because I have two ears (eyes in this case), and one mouth. The purpose of this forum, at least in intent, is the sharing of information. How much is up to each individual. I enjoy the fact that fisherman are willing and have the means to share our knowledge and offer advice to those who need it. It is that camaraderie that binds and connects us to others who share in our common interests. I do not expect someone to share the specific locations in which they have found success, as that usually comes with plenty of time, effort, and by extension money, and is not to be taken lightly. I never have, and never will, share secrets bestowed upon me by others. Once again, thank you for information given, and more is always welcome. At least a couple of drinks will be on me at the Yantis bar ( I don't remember the name) for those who shared info with me. (PM me and we will make this happen). Tight lines boys and girls!!

Neon Moon...formerly East Fork. You can do the same on the West Fork if you prefer that side of the lake. The bite wasn't as good yesterday as previous days.

I would put in at the 154e public ramp and move north fishing the coves on the east side of the lake. Plenty timber in those, and kinda protected from N/S winds. The fleas won't be in there...

Now that I have arrived, I have formulated a plan. Tomorrow morning I will fish for lmbwith my father at first light in lake winnsboro. By mid morning, mid day, I will run to the east fork north of 515. I know that by then, I really wont get an accurate stock of whats happening, but Ill at least familiarize myself with the structure enough to know whether Monday I will go back, or run to the 154 bridge as advised. I have a small family gathering that Id like to provide for on Monday. If it doesnt happen so be it, Ill chalk that up to operator malfunction, as I have the tools, and thanks to you guys, the information needed for success. I cannot thank you enough for the willingness to share the information I know you have worked hard to procure.
