Guess I’d need to find the stumpiest lake/river to avoid the mass of recreational traffic. Or better to just stay home?

Maybe I’ll head to some stretch of river in the middle of nowhere.

I'm just staying home. May get an inflatable pool to relax in.

Will be floating in the float tube on our 8 acre lake that backs up to Cypress. I’ll just have to listen to all the jet fleas but won’t have to deal with them.

It seems like when I actually do attempt to fish on a holiday weekend that there are fisherman that fish like some people go to church.....only on holidays! Like walking into the church on Christmas morning: where did they all come from? laugh

Very good analogy. Like the guy who buys a new Tracker to fish 3 times a year, spring spawn and Memorial day weekend

Everyone always makes it out to be so awful.... I fish all the holiday weekends and rarely have any issues. Even on the busiest of holidays fishing from daylight till 10 -11am is no problem. If your looking for a reason to stay at home I guess the crowds are as good of an excuse as any.

Will probably fish both days. Shouldn't be too much traffic on the lake I plan to fish.

Maybe just go to Joe Pool and fish till 11-12 or so, then load up my boat and break out a lawn chair and watch the boat ramp escapades.

I let the working people have the weekends. I can get all the fishing in I want through the week. Tried fishing on Saturday twice this year and both times ended up a joke. Dang sure ain't going on a holiday weekend. Got lots of other things to do, one replacing the blow out on my trailer tire I had Wednesday and go watch the pro's at Colonial.
