Been catching limits on both lakes this past week.
Lavon 5-10’ early around flooded willows and brush then moving out to 15-20’ standing timber once the sun gets up high. Shad spawn is in full gear. That drives the shallow bite early. Had 50 monday in less than 3 hours with several 1.25-1.50# fish. Deeper fish are suspended 12-14’ and many will hit it on the fall using a 1/8th ounce white/Chartreuse jigs.
Fished Fork yesterday and had 50 keepers up to 2.20#. Had 5 fish right around 2#’s with another 30 between 1.25# to 1.75#. Caught them in 15-28’ water suspended 12-16’ deep around standing timber.Same as Lavon many would hit it on the fall. White/Chartreuse jigs. Quality on Fork is just amazing.
More trees you fish the more fish you catch. Find a limb on a tree at the right depth and your going to get bit.
