Never been, thinking about going this Saturday. anyone have the do's and don'ts?

Limit your betting $$$. Lots of fun. We usually sit up in the boxes or restaurant. Great time to spend with family. The races provide a few minutes break from the conversation we have fun seeing who wins more $ and who loses more $.

If it's going to be hot spend the extra few dollars to get a booth inside. Go down and check out the horses between races. I miss going to the races especially when they are doing the summer concerts.

spend the extra few bucks to sit inside. You get AC plus you avoid all the rif raf that is in general admission. Oh the AC works really well so expect to be very cool. You don't have to wait in line to make bets upstairs.

the silks

Don't do like my fishing partners wife and bet on the the prettiest colored silks.

The wife and I used to Sam Houston Race Park in Houston to see the thoroughbreds race. We would sit inside on the finish line and limit our betting to $30 each. It was a ton of fun and take friends.

I need to learn how to wager. Is there any ways to increase your odds? Is it better to bet tri and exactas or focus on winners?

I win most of my money by boxing 3 horses for a $2 exacta. It a $12 total bet but if any two of the three finish win or place then you win. I won $165 on just one race a week or so ago.

Go with beginners luck the first time out, works great

pick a horse that you know will come in at least 3rd
then roll your bet
if you keep hitting
you will be suprised
