thank you I know you might be biased lol. Took her to ray roberts this afternoon. noticeable things vs Tarpon 120 much more fish-ability can reach way back no problem. used seat in low position. kept one rod in the "slots" on side, held in on but end, with paddle bungee. no problem moves about in any wind at all. definitely more paddling required compared to Tarpon. handled fast boat wakes fine, including tied to a tree. A hawg trough ruler fits under the seat, above junk box junk box works cross/tail wind back to ramp (buck creek) I paddled left side 5 or 6 strokes for every one on right side to keep pointed. Back end was getting pushed right. I wonder how the tarpon would have done.. FF setup is a dream, worked fine. *also it catches fish* lol caught 3 Crappie one legal.

some buyers remorse today keep wondering if I would have liked a Jackson yak better. or..? dang it. Haha- I have a Jackson Cuda 14 and have a paddled a tarpon several times and read alot about the SS127. The Tarpon seems much more like a touring kayak with some fishing bells and whistles. The SS127 looks to be fishing focused top to bottom. The Cuda 14 is probably somewhere in between. The Cuda is a big boat all around. It's ok stable to paddle standing up with complete focus. Fishing standing up? Not going to happen for me and I suspect for most people. I've read the opposite on the SS127. The high low seat concept is great in the Cuda, but putting it in, changing it takes a minute. You probably wouldn't want to be in the high position in real chop or rapids, I've done it, but it's not completely secure. I've read the SS127 you can adjust on the water and its still stable. That is too cool. I love the junk drawer concept as the Cuda 14 has very limited secure storage at your finger tips in the cockpit. It has tons of storage, but they require you getting out to the boat to access. All you really have are some pouches that are part of the back and underside of the seat. I suspect the Cuda probably tracks more like the Tarpon which is to say very well. It tracks and glides across chop very well. It doesn't want to turn. However, this has bit me more than once on the river. The cuda is a lot to manage through some rapids, Downstream boat angle is critical to get right as it just won't turn fast enough and if an eddy grabs you, it's really tough to fight it. Buying again, I'd defintely would have given a harder look at the SS127 and Diablo Paddlesports.

I'm looking forward to more information on the new Native 12XC, see how it stacks up with these others.
It, too, has some cool stuff related to fishing and handling.
I suppose it is just a "small" version of a Jackson Big Rig but it, oddly, seems to weigh more. Not certain how that could be but I believe I read that.

Hey, you bought it, don't second guess it and be happy. There are a LOT of people fishing that boat for tournaments.
Note: THERE IS NO PERFECT KAYAK. Perfect for what should be the question. If you are trolling or covering a big lake maybe a Native Slayer pedal 13.5 or Hobie.
If you fly fish mostly maybe a Mayfly or the new Native XC
If you paddle distances the SS127 is narrower at 33.75" than some of the fly fishing specific boats so it should paddle better than a 36.5" wide XC.
Your SS127 looks crazy stable for it's width. I actually love the design and am jealous. Bluntly the Mayfly, XC and SS127 are my personal short list. The extra $300 in your pocket vs a Mayfly will help with the rigging.
Last thought: GO Fish, put a smile on your face, you done well grasshopper.
