So they make an enhancement to their webpage experience by making downloading sw updates more customer friendly and you want to make a big fuss over how they notified customers? Seems pretty petty to me. They made the change to help customers out, be happy about it

There are two things wrong with the way Humminbird did it:

1) The existing accounts are no longer valid which requires a new account be created.

2) There was no advance notification of the activation of a new web page and inactivating the old web page so that users could migrate their existing data such as

* Unit Serial Number

* Model

* Purchase Date

No one likes change, however, I do believe this is not a huge deal and we will all adjust to it very easily as it is Simply. Clearly. Better.

Yes, Humminbird has changed its format to the "My Humminbird" You will still register the unit and with-in registering it will have an area to check off yes or no to receive the things we received in the older format.

Sounds like just a scheduling snafu between departments on timing.

Going to just a 1 year warranty is not good. That would be the shortest warranty in the industry.

No problem with the change, I took a look after I got the email, looks good. But if you are going to make a change of this magnitude then you notify your customers first. Plain and simple. Somebody did a lousy job on this one.
