I know it was Mothers day weekend but did any one go out and get a few? I plan to take the boat out there Saturday if the schooling action is still on, other wise I'm going somewhere else. So if you went, a bad or good report would be helpful.

We went saturday morning. Fished few hours. Whites (50) and crappie. (32) Not bad for launching at 7am and off by 1pm.

Trollers are in full force. Had to beat them off like mosquitos. Something about trollers seeing guys pick off a school of whites with baits they just have to come by. They eventually left our area without hooking up. Felt bad for them..maybe they should learn how to read a graph and use hard baits?

I went to lake Somerville yesterday afternoon. The white bass were schooling near the dam. I chased them for awhile, but they were all small ones. I did manage to catch this sow while I was there though.

Mr. Tedrick, if I would have gone with you guys, my pathetic attempts with the flyrod would have been well documented. Great video as always. I will have to review to find those crappie holes. Admittedly, my favorite part of the video was watching your (niece?) fishing. I'm taking my daughter to stay with my parents in east texas this weekend. Maybe I can convince the powers that be to let me have an extra day or two to stay and take my little girl to do a little perch-jerking, (and maybe take the kayak for a little daddy time). I have a-lot to learn with the flyrod, but I'm proud to say I have now caught a white bass, lmb, and a bream with one. FYI, I managed to duplicate my feat of two white bass on one rattletrap.

Just saw that nikki posted on another forum that Lake Somerville received 60,000 Hybrid Striper fingerlings on Thursday (5-24). Big D. was there and assisted with the stocking. Thanks to TPWD and Big D!

Does anyone have a general idea of what the survival rates are for stocked fingerling hybrids. I'm guessing 30 to 40 percent will actually grow to 18" and that is considering many of them being caught and kept with the white bass well before they reach legal size as hybrids...Lawton

Less than 1% will make it to mature size. Between natural predators, and folks mistaking them as whitebass. Well be lucky is 1000 fish make it..

But to give you a honest answer- 10% SHOULD make it to mature size...

Did you fish the creeks or the lake and what did you catch? I can't view the video.
